TheMissaglias armour is the last set you can buy, and if you do the tombs as they become available you will have Altair's armour before the whole Missaglias set is even available to buy I think. I'm pretty sure the stats are equal, but Altair's never needs repairing. Personally, I was rolling in Missaglias (and Ochre I think) at the end of the ForAssassin's Creed: Revelations on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Altair's Armor".
